The Global Network of Foundations Working for Development (netFWD) has been set up by the OECD (the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) in 2011 due to fast-changing dynamics of development and the development landscape.
Non-state actors such as foundations playing a pivotal role, call for innovative thinking and new fora to revisit development strategies and tackle emerging and persistent challenges at the global, regional, national and local levels.
The networks mission is to optimise and accelerate the impact of philanthropy for development through the sharing of experiences, lesson learning, policy influencing and the development of innovative partnerships.
