Kicking off the year with purpose: highlights from our members gathering

Earlier this month, we welcomed over 50 members to our first members gathering of the year. This online gathering was designed to align, inspire and connect our vibrant community of investors for impact and impact actors. It was a moment to hear directly from our leadership, reflect on our collective direction and engage meaningfully with other members.

Kicking off the year with purpose: highlights from our members gathering

A common vision

Our CEO, Roberta Bosurgi, opened the session by grounding us in the vision we co-developed last year during the Impact Leaders event in Venice.

“We commit to a future where our children and grandchildren can thrive, alongside the planet.”

This vision is more than just a statement – it's rooted in the shared values of freedom, respect, humanity, care, awareness, safety, cohesion and resilience.

Together, we aim to advance universal access to health, water, food, education and decent work – all while ensuring everyone can lead a fulfilling and inclusive life.

Five strategic streams to guide us

Taking into account this vision for the sector, five streams guide our work and priorities as a network:

  1. Showcasing Impact

  2. Ensuring Funding Flow and Mechanisms

  3. Strengthening Resilience

  4. Solving Complex Challenges

  5. Embracing Tech and Innovation for Good

A strong and diverse member community

The session gathered around 50 members representing both long-term members and newly joined organisations, an energised mix. Following the presentations, members had the chance to connect informally with peers and engage with our market development, policy and capacity building activities, helping them identify opportunities to maximise their membership and contribute to our collective work.

The gathering was also a moment to better understand some of the key challenges that our members are facing across the ecosystem. Issues like access to unrestricted funding, connecting with policymakers and navigating complex environments are top of mind. Members also raised needs around co-investment, stakeholder engagement in data reporting and applying AI in impact measurement.

In response, Impact Europe is rolling out targeted solutions through peer-to-peer learning moments, LP office hours, communities of practice and practical research – such as the catalytic grantmaking survey.  During Impact Week, the member community will be able to showcase their impact and collaborate by connecting with like-minded partners across sectors to turn challenges into shared solutions.

What’s next?

The next member gathering will take place on the 15th of May, a Meet & Greet designed to welcome new members.
