Insights from an LP: Aurum Impact
What happens when LPs go ‘unlimited’? A quick wrap-up of our first LP Office Hours gathering, with Aurum Impact.

Last week, Aurum Impact, a leading Limited Partner (LP) in the impact ecosystem, shared valuable insights from their investment strategy, impact priorities and decision-making process with Impact Europe’s impact funds community. The members-only gathering, part of our ‘LP Office Hours’ series, was designed as a reverse-pitching session, where an LP can deep-dive on their strategy for an audience of General Partners (GPs).
Based in Germany, Aurum Impact is the impact investment arm of the Goldbeck family office; they aim to empower systemic change through impact investing. At the gathering, Miki Yokoyama (Managing Director & Partner, Aurum Impact) gave GPs in attendance an inside look at how Aurum defines their investment criteria, assesses funds and builds their pipeline. The discussion provided an inside look at Aurum's decision-making process: what they’re looking for, what they’re not, and why. One of Miki’s key takeaways for GPs: build relationship with LPs early on, get to know their interests and ask lots of questions before pitching.
Following her presentation, Miki led a Q&A that allowed members to ask their questions in a safe and trusted space. This gets to the heart of why Impact Europe has launched the LP Office Hours series: our goal is to make the impact investing market more transparent, and foster trust, alignment and collaboration between GPs and LPs. The gatherings are designed for Impact Europe members looking to refine their approach to securing LP funding, better understand the LP perspective, or explore emerging trends in the field.
Next up in the LP Office Hours series, Christian Polman will share insights from his approach, including insights into this family office’s investment strategy and criteria, how they assess opportunities and approach their investment process to drive financial and social returns. The event will take place on 18 March and is open to Impact Europe members – register here!

Special thanks to all attendees of the first edition of LP Office Hours – and to Miki for contributing her insights with such transparency. Her recent appearance on The European VC podcast is also worth a listen.
