In response to the ESAs and the Platform on Sustainable Finance’s views on the future of SFDR, we have expressed our reservations.
In this position paper, we aim to constructively engage with the perspectives of the ESAs and the Platform on the necessity of introducing an impact category. We address key concerns raised, clarify the rationale for establishing an impact category within the future SFDR, and highlight the importance of aligning regulatory frameworks with evolving market needs.
This position paper builds on the coordinated approach outlined in the Joint Letter to the European Commission (December 2023) and is endorsed by FAIR, Impact Finance Belgium, the Impact Investing Institute, #unitedforimpact, the Dutch NAB and SpainNAB.
This paper has been co-funded by the European Union through the EaSI strand of the ESF+ programme.
