In this workshop, we will explore how private capital can be highly catalytic and how to precisely engage in a blended finance model, particularly in times of crisis. This session will navigate the evolving landscape of the
"new normal" for asset owners supporting the critical infrastructure of blended finance deals.

We will examine the pivotal role of private capital in “keeping the lights on” by filling gaps left by government
institutions that have abruptly reversed course, turned inward, and abandoned their commitments—leaving
thousands of projects in urgent need of bridge loans and financing. This is not just a theoretical exercise; it
addresses a real need and presents a tangible opportunity to step up and apply the principles of catalytic
capital in a dynamic and rapidly evolving situation.

The workshop will include theory, case studies, role-play, and group work.

Key objectives:

  • Understand the different actors involved in a blended finance vehicles
  • Explore opportunities for sourcing and stepping into critical roles
  • Find out the expectations for what is required at each step of the process.
